300 chocolate selection boxes donated to Canterbury Food Bank
The count down for Christmas is on – but not all families will be able to afford an advent calendar, chocolates or a few luxuries this year.
And so we’ve bought 300 chocolate selection boxes that have been donated to Canterbury Food Bank.
Community spirit and pulling together have been shown in abundance throughout the last few months and now, Active Business Group has joined in – with a tower of chocolate!
Group chair Neal Page, said: “Christmas is going to be hard, different, and possibly quite difficult for some families this year.
Children love the chocolates and the thought of some missing out because families aren’t able to afford it was something we wanted to try and help with.
We paid for them with group funds, plus extra donations from members.
It’s only a small gesture but one that we hope puts a smile on their faces and lets them know that others are thinking about them.”
The group usually meets weekly at Cave Hotel, Boughton, but has been meeting online for most of the year.
