ABG, which believes in supporting local business owners & managers, is excited to announce we are welcoming renowned business mentor David Barrington as a regular visitor and contributor. The membership is eagerly anticipating the wealth of experience and strategic insight David will bring to the group.
For those unfamiliar with the ABG, it is a hub where local business leaders move beyond simple networking. The group fosters a supportive environment focused on tangible growth, shared challenges, and practical solutions, enabling members to build stronger, more resilient businesses together.
David Barrington will make his debut in September, joining a powerful panel of business authorities for a timely and critical discussion: Navigating the Economic Crossroads – What’s Next for Small Business?. This event will provide a unique opportunity for local business owners to engage directly with the panel, discussing practical insights and strategic foresight. David will be joined by Dr. Tim Aker of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Patrick Campbell from the Bank of England, and the group’s own highly-regarded Chartered Management Accountant, Wendy Tetley.
The collaboration extends well beyond a single event. The ABG is thrilled to announce that David will be sharing his guidance with the membership for a full year. Starting in October 2025, he will deliver a series of talks titled From Startup to Sign Off – Building a Business That Lasts. This thirteen month-long programme promises to provide members with an invaluable roadmap for sustainable business success.
Mark Isom, current Chair of ABG commented, “Having David Barrington join us is a major coup for our members. His practical, real-world approach to business growth perfectly complements our group’s ethos. We are not just about passing business cards; we are about building better businesses, and David’s involvement will be instrumental in that mission throughout the next year.”
Local business owners and managers who wish to benefit from these expert discussions and experience the collaborative spirit of the Active Business Group are encouraged to attend.
Visitors are welcomed to the group, which meets every Tuesday the Cave Hotel & Golf Resort in Boughton, near Faversham.
