Three weeks after our last face to face networking meeting at Mount Ephraim Gardens the group had another lovely late afternoon catch up at the Brogdale Collections in Faversham.
Whilst our normal venue at Boughton Golf Club is not quite ready for the early morning weekly breakfast meetings to resume we are visiting other local venues, where we can meet socially distanced. This allows us to support our local business friends and hard-hit hospitality trades and finally allows us to add the human touch back to one of our networking meetings each month.
Yesterday we met in the wonderful orchards at Brogdale, the home of the National Fruit Collection, where we strolled around on a self-guided tour, marvelling at the history of something as simple as a piece of fruit. Apples, pears, quince, cob nuts, hazelnuts – countless varieties were found on our walk. The opportunity to pick your own apple from the tree and taste it was pretty special & the weather was super kind to us.
Halfway around the tour, we found a wonderful musical play area, which none of us could resist from playing with, returning for our light afternoon snack we were able to detour through the lovely Garden for Wildlife, created by volunteers. Who would think this little gem of a venue was right on our doorstep. You can visit the Brogdale Collections and experience tours and tastings on their special Heritage Orchard Days, running until October 2020.
The members and visitors received a warm welcome from our Chairman Neal, of Horizon Vehicle Leasing & Jacqui from J & J Systems, our membership secretary.
Our members, Dee, Debbie, Phillip & James all enjoyed meeting our guests Tony Line from Kent Recruitment Bureau, Ian Pentland from Karman Valeting, Michael from Burnt Toast Solutions and Lesley Bennett from Bennett-Associates.
The informal and enjoyable face to face networking meeting gave such a feeling of support, we are all looking forward to our next meeting, at the Dove in Dargate later this month.
